I know all these colors don't look pretty, but for some reason, Blogger changed my entire theme, text colors, etc. out of the blue. Minna, Konnichiwa! SchuyPrism is back with another Clarkson University's Club Baseball bi-seasonal recap. The team finished their fall season, well, in October, and with a meager 2-7 record and 1-4 in league play. A lot of new talent joined the club this past fall, including at least seven freshman and one sophomore. There's certainly a lot of room for improvement as the rookies adjust to the new atmosphere. The team has been trying to iron out their hitches all fall, for which some improvement has shown through the dirt. The team had far fewer strikeouts this fall than in previous seasons, unfortunately the hits in the right moments and the RBI's are still lacking. Hopefully those will come generously in the spring. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The ever-so lustrous Potsdam, NY impeded numerous games once again this fall with snow and cold weather coming early and often. However, the Golden Knights were still able to get a few games in despite the sub par weather conditions. And with that, on to the recap!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
The Golden Knights started off their 2016 fall season with an exhibition series against the 17/18u <a href="http://montrealtitans.ca/index.php/en/">Montreal Titans</a> at home at <a href="http://baseball52.wixsite.com/clarksonclubbaseball/directions-to-field">Sandstoner Park</a> in Potsdam. The Titans are a showcase / travel team from Canada. And while they are not a college team like the Golden Knights, many of their players will probably end up in upper level college ball, if not eventually in the pros. It's always a lot of fun playing a team that speaks a different language. But despite the age difference, the Titans still managed to win three of the four games, only losing the final game in the series after running out of steam. Being the first series of the fall for the Golden Knights, the team was figuring out the best places for all the new players as well as finding the best combinations of rookies and returners.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The next series brought the Golden Knights to Brockport to play against the Division I SUNY Brockport club team (Note: the Golden Knights are in Division II). The Golden Knights were holding their own, with a chance to even win the first of a double header, but unfortunately, the final winner of the series was the rain, as both games got postponed due to the weather.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Rain Wins at SUNY Brockport</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Next up, the Golden Knights took a road trip down to Oneonta to play a series against the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons. The first doubleheader on Saturday ended with a tie, as the Red Dragons took the first game by the score of 2-1, but the Golden Knights came back to take the second game by the score of 9-4. Unfortunately, the Golden Knights couldn't keep the winning rolling and lost the third and final game of the series by a score of 7-1 on Sunday.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Golden Knights couldn't get the runs scoring in the next series against the SUNY Oswego Lakers and ended up losing both games of the doubleheader with the third getting postponed. And the final series of the fall was scheduled against Ithaca College, but that too was postponed due to inclement weather.<br />

Some noteworthy things of note: Both graduate student JP Visconte and Junior Ian Wetherbee recorded their 40th career hits. And graduate student Ian Shaw returned to get his 100th career strikeout and his 100th career inning pitched.<br />
<br />
Come out to support the Golden Knights in the spring!</div>

Minna, Konnichiwa! The Clarkson University Club Baseball Team finished their spring season about a month ago now, to conclude the 2015-2016 season. The Golden Knights took 2 out of 5 to end the season with a overall record of 15-9-1 and 12-6 in conference play. Unfortunately, they landed in second place, just behind the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons, thus, unable to make the NCBA Playoffs. You can check out the team website <a href="http://baseball52.wix.com/clarksonclubbaseball">here</a>.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Onwards! To the recap: After having the University of New Haven cancel, the Knights' first series of the spring was against the RPI Engineers down in Troy, NY. Due to impending snow fall the following day, the teams decided to play all three games on that Saturday, which led to many of us's first triple header. The Knights took a bit to get started as they lost the first two 11-1 and 10-0, although the Engineers seemed to lose their steam and the Knights came back to win the third 11-7, after a short hail and snow delay.</div>

The following weekend, the Knights traveled to Schenectady to face off against the Union Dutch. The series ended in 1-1 tie, with the Dutch gaining their first ever win as a club team by the score of 5-3. However, they couldn't achieve their first sweep as they ran out of pitchers in the second game letting the Knights win 7-4. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Something of note: </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Senior Ian Shaw continued to break his own records and was able to claim his spot as the Knights' all-time pitching leader. Shaw ended his reign with a career total of 95 strikeouts in 91 innings pitched, which gave way to a impressive 2.69 ERA and 6 wins on top of 10 complete games. He also holds the single season record with 38 k's in 38.1 innings and 4 wins from 4 complete games. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And with that the season ended. The Knights will lose four of their best due to something called "graduation", whatever that is. May they continue to do well, wherever they're off to.<br />

Once again, this post will not include translations. Rest assured, I am starting to learn the grammatical aspects of Japanese but am not yet confident enough to write sentences without the aid of the "always correct" Google Translate. In addition, I have to learn how to Spanish again, since it has been quite some time since I really focused on the language. I know I've said this just about every post, but based on how often I post and how the language learning is coming along, I should be able to include translations with the next post.</div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Minna, ohayo! I mean it's morning somewhere. Anyway, here's a post that's actually about something, not just me blabbing about what this blog could be. Moving on, the Clarkson University's Club Baseball team finished their fall season, well about two months ago now, with a 10-6-1 record and 8-4 in league play. Before I get into the details, I should probably explain a little more about the team. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, the Clarkson University Club Baseball team started in the fall of 2012 by JonPaul Visconte and Edward Lee, who are both in the Class of 2015. That spring (2013), the club won their first game against SUNY New Paltz in walk-off fashion by a base hit from JonPaul. They ended the season 1-1. The following year (2013-2014), the club ended their first full season with 6 wins for a total record of 6-11. Jumping to the next season (2014-2015), the club joined the NCBA (<a href="http://www.clubbaseball.org/div2/">National Club Baseball Association</a>) in Division II and finished the year with a 11-7 record and 6-6 in league play. And now we come to the current season (2015-2016), where the club has finished the fall season with a 7-6-1 record and 5-4 in league play (with 3 forfeit wins for a overall record of 10-6-1). The club looks to play a series each against RPI and SUNY New Paltz come spring or whenever the snow melts.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Taking another step back, Club Baseball has some interesting points that may be worth explaining. First, teams play weekend series in the fall and the spring and compete for playoff spots. Working your way up the playoff bracket, your team can eventually reach the Club Baseball World Series, much like the NCAA College Baseball World Series, except it's club and not the NCAA. The World Series is usually held somewhere in Arkansas. Furthermore, club teams don't have a specified coach, per se, but rather the players coach themselves and being a club, it has the usual president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, etc. Otherwise, baseball is in fact still baseball, and that's really all there is to say about that.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Onwards! To the recap: So starting the season the Golden Knights faced off against their friendly neighborhood rivals, the SUNY Canton Kangaroos and split the series 1-1. Nothing too noteworthy during this series.<br />
<br />

</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
On to the next weekend the Knights went head-to-head with probably the toughest team in the league, SUNY Binghamton. Sophomore Drew Devendorf hit the Knights' first Home Run of the season and the Knights' third of all-time, late in the second game. Unfortunately, it was not enough power to pull the Knights ahead. The Bear Cats came out on top 2 out of the 3 and won the series 2-1. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: justify;"><i><span style="font-size: x-small;">Sophomore Anthony Angelini's walk-off in the 8th, gives the Knights a win.</span></i></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
The following series saw the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons come out on top in the series 2-1, however the Knights' sole victory came in an 8 inning nail biter topped with a walk-off hit from Anthony Angelini. Also something worth noting, Senior Ian Shaw threw his club leading 75th career strikeout.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Moving on, the Knights played their friendly neighborhood rivals once again for a 3-game series over the course of the next two weekends. Well it ended in ties. The series went 1-1-1 for each team, with the final game going 10 innings before getting called. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
And finally the last series of the fall for the Golden Knights saw the Knights' first sweep in the team's history, against the Colgate Raiders. The final game, the Knights got a lucky break after the game was called in the 6th due to lack of visibility and snow accumulation, which left the Raiders with the bases loaded and no outs to end the game. Senior JP Visconte collected his team leading 30th career hit. Well, that's all for the fall season. let's hope the Golden Knights can collect more wins in the spring.</div>

As a side note, this post will not include translations, as of now, because I've fallen behind on my attempts to learn the languages and on top of all my school work, I haven't had much time. However, the next posts should include them. In addition, I also wanted to get this post out while it was still somewhat relevant.<br />
<br />
Furthermore, I have the said contest set in place, although, I don't have the prizes yet. I wouldn't want to post a contest with no prizes. Please wait a little longer. (お待ちください! Omachikudasai! ¡Por favor, espera!)<br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Do note that there are changes coming to this blog, that, may or may not include an abundance of new and regular posts. We'll see how it goes. Also note for those of you who subscribed here for baseball and other related posts, you may not be seeing as many of those here in the coming time, (if you're looking for those try <a href="http://drewsbbcards.blogspot.com/">here</a> and <a href="http://foulbunt.blogspot.com/">here</a> or some of the blogs to the right -->) however, some baseball or other sports posts may trickle in every once and awhile. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Frankly, "SchuyPrism" is not pertaining to any specific thing, but rather a multitude of various subjects and matters that I feel the interwebs should think and/or know about. Whether it be some hot topic currently investing itself on the internet, or some new revolutionary technology or idea that's worthy of discussion, or be it some far out abstract idea that popped into my head, in which the only way I can give it any coherence is to write it down here. As I'm writing this, this seems to be more of what the "about page" should be consisted of, but I suppose you should just try to think of this as a "first post of a new blog" - type of post rather than anything else.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
As for the changes, <span style="color: blue;">T</span>here <span style="color: red;">W</span>ill <span style="color: lime;">B</span>e <span style="color: yellow;">A</span>nother <span style="color: orange;">C</span>ontest! Just whenever I can figure out what that entirely entails and the necessary prizes that will come along with it. For another change, just read on below. As for the rest, well, they're a work in progress, and I don't even know them all yet. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I've come up with this idea, whether it's to be a good idea or not, only time will tell. This idea incorporates my interest in various languages from around the world and the amount of non-English speaking countries</span><i style="font-family: inherit;"> </i><span style="font-family: inherit;">visiting this site, from their own free will or not. To be honest there is not much traffic here to begin with, however, the amount of non-English speaking countries as compared to the English speaking ones is quite comparable. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit; text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; text-align: justify;">As for my idea: from now on, every one of my posts will be written in multiple languages. The idea is to help accommodate the foreign visitors, in addition to primarily helping myself to try and learn multiple languages. But of course, in the beginning it may be a bit rough, considering I can only claim to be fluent in one language, with that being English; and as you may be able to tell, my English is not great to begin with, well, at least my written English. </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I'll start with Spanish and Japanese, Spanish being what I took in high school and Japanese being just a language I really want to learn. When I feel that I have at least grasped the language to the point where I can hold a conversation with another person, I may add more languages to the translations, such as one of the Celtic languages, Latin, or even a different European language.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">To start off, I'll just have a summary of the post in the other languages, but the idea is that as I learn more, the summaries will grow in length and eventually be translated in full. However, just copying and pasting translations from a translator would kinda ruin the point, but considering I don't know the languages, I am only going to try to copy single words and learn the grammar and word/sentence structure as I go. With this being said, in the beginning my grammar will be amusingly horrific. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Furthermore, for the Japanese portion, the text will primarily be written in Romaji, at least in the beginning, since it is kind of hard to type the characters with this English/Latin keyboard, (of course I can always copy and paste the characters); although, as time goes on and when I can finally remember all the Kanamoji, or Hiragana, or Katakana, or Kanji, and get each of those terms straightened out, I will try to incorporate the characters as well as the Romaji. The idea of the Romaji is also to help me learn (and anyone else who wants to learn) the pronunciation of Japanese. (As a side note, one commenter said on Reddit, "that you should focus on the Kana/Kanji and think in those characters, rather than trying to do everything in Romaji," however, for me at least, I think it would be better to at least start with the Romaji to understand the sounds and then when I am able to connect the sounds to the character, I'll try focusing more on the Kana/Kanji.)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Another note: I understand that I'm probably sounding a bit ignorant and quite stupid, but the hope and goal of this little project is to help aid me in understanding multiple languages.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-small;">Also noted that I don't often post much of anything here, or anywhere for that matter, but this idea, is just a little project in hopes of aiding and expediting my knowledge of these various languages. In addition, if anyone has any comments or helpful advice about any of the languages, or anything else, let me know in the comments or message me on the my contact page on the right.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here goes the first attempt of the hopefully many to come... </div>

Let's go! ¡Vámonos! Ikimashou! (Rettsugō! - Sounds more like the Katakana version - but what do I know.)</div>

Alright, since it's the first time, I'll let myself slide, just so everyone can get the idea of what I'll be doing. But next time I won't go easy on myself, minimal translator usage. Gambatte SchuyPrism, gambatte. (or is it "ganbatte"? hmmm.)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It is our primordiales (primordial) destiny to help a new generation of beings to exist; in this universe, in this time, in this space. We have exhausted our time. We have learned the answers. It is ripe now to hand life off to the next. We will stay to observe and promote the new ones. They may view us as gods, but we are no such thing. They are us and we are them. We are what they will become, given time. Let the cycle continue. The cycle doesn't end until time itself ceases to exist. When they have attained our equate, we will ebb into abatement.</span></i></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The "we" the passage is referring to, is not necessarily us humans, well maybe in time; but rather it is referring to a higher being. (Everyone has a different name for these omniscient, omnipotent, deific, "divine beings": Creators, God, gods, Elohim, Allah, Amaterasu, Baldr, Extra-Terrestrials, etc.) "<i>Given time</i>" we humans may become the "we", however, the time has not yet come to pass. We are the "<i>new generation of beings</i>", currently and presumably. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">(</span><i><span style="font-size: x-small;">For sake of explanation, the "new generation of beings", or the younger, inferior, etc. group will be referred to as the "new group" or the "new group of beings". And the higher beings/gods/creators/helpers etc. will be referred to as the "higher beings" )</span></i></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">From the above writings, it may seem closed minded and selfish in the way that there is only one group (<i>higher beings</i>) helping another single group (<i>new group</i>), although, this is not the case. While, yes, one group of "<i>higher beings"</i> may help another (<i>new group</i>), they are not the only ones. There could be infinite amounts of these groups in this universe, time, and space, and there could be another infinite in another universe, time, and space. For instance, species A helps and promotes a "<i>new group"</i> and species B helps and promotes a different "<i>new group"</i>. Furthermore, there may be more than one group of "<i>higher beings"</i> helping and promoting a single "<i>new group"</i>. These two or more groups helping the "<i>new group"</i> could be at peace with one another, or at war, or may not even know of one another's existence. And the "<i>new group"</i> also may or may not know of, or even understand, what the "<i>higher beings"</i> are doing. And if the "<i>new group"</i> knows of the "<i>higher beings"</i> existence, they may view them as gods. But as stated in the passage from above, "...<i>but we are no such thing."</i> Given time and the right circumstances, the "<i>new beings"</i> will become the "<i>higher beings"</i>, however long it may take. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">More so, while the "<i>higher beings"</i> may help and promote the "<i>new beings"</i>, it is also quite possible, but maybe not true in every case, that the "<i>higher beings"</i> even created the "<i>new beings"</i> as well. Either as an experiment, an attempt at survival of their own species, or even just because they simply could. If this is the case, the "<i>higher beings"</i> and "<i>new beings"</i> would be very similar in genetic makeup / shape / size / what have you, although they would probably not be an exact replica. It would depend on the purpose of the creators and why they had made these "<i>new beings"</i>. If the creation was for the purpose of a continuation of a race, then the "<i>new beings"</i> may be more similar than not, maybe with a touch of something that would give the "<i>new beings"</i> the ability to survive if the creators could not, like some sort of "boost". If it was just because the creators could, then the "<i>new beings"</i> may be a bit different than the creators. There is also the possibility that the creators created the "<i>new beings"</i> because they needed something to help themselves, such as for labor, entertainment, nourishment, etc. This last case would most likely fall under the "because they could" category, more or less.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Furthermore, these "<i>higher beings</i>" may not be omnipresent or even omniscient. These "<i>higher beings</i>" are just as the name suggests, higher, more advanced, morally, technologically, cognitively, etc. in comparison to the "<i>new beings</i>", hence the "<i>destiny to help a new generation of beings...</i>". (I mean the NSA is omnipresent, aren't they?) So it's quite possible that these "<i>higher beings</i>" may just have advanced technology, that the "<i>new beings</i>" don't understand and see it as "the powers of the gods".</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Although, of course, the "<i>higher beings</i>" may not intend to help and promote the "<i>new beings</i>" but do so by accident. If the "<i>higher beings</i>" have become advanced enough to travel through the vastness of space, but have yet to "...<i>find all the answers</i>" and become truly omniscient, and they happen to land on a planet with primitive beings. Then the primitive beings, or "<i>new beings</i>", see these foreigners as "the gods coming down to visit them". In turn, the "<i>higher beings</i>" could potentially have a great influence on these "<i>new beings</i>" and could even push the "<i>new beings</i>" technologically and morally more quickly than they would have alone, all without meaning to do so. And these "<i>higher beings</i>" could either use this situation to help the "<i>new beings</i>" advance or just use the "<i>new beings</i>" as slaves or as disposable pawns on the chessboard. However, the "<i>new beings</i>" might not understand the purpose of the "<i>higher beings</i>", so they would see their actions as "god's will" or "the might of the gods". More so, the "<i>new beings</i>" also might not understand the expanse of the technology of the "<i>higher beings</i>" so they would describe them as they saw and in the way they understood. For example, a modern day plane may be titled "the Great Bird of ____ - the God of Fire" or something of the sort.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Of course there could also be an even higher being(s) that controls or promotes the higher beings <i>and </i>the new beings. One can only speculate and attempt to fathom such a immense thought.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: x-small;">As a side note, feel free to comment on or question this theory, because after all it is just a theory, as of now. And this theory is far from flawless, so if you notice any significant holes, let me know and I will try to answer them. </span><br />

<br />
You should have seen the pop-up banner already, but if you haven't it's because you are reading this on a day that's not today, Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Do not let the FCC give away the internet to some large faceless corporation. That corporation will make you pay and wait to get to a website. It will severely slow down internet speeds. And those websites this corporation doesn't like, well they won't be a website anymore.<br />
Since I don't know everything, if you want the full story, a list of participating websites/companies, or just for more information go to the following link: <a href="https://www.battleforthenet.com/sept10th/">https://www.battleforthenet.com/sept10th/ </a><br />

You would be seeing images like this all the time on every website...<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I just wanted to thank you for visiting, viewing, and commenting on my blog, even if you were brought here against your own will and consent. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Furthermore, considering my last few posts have not be about stuff I have, had, or want to have, primarily speaking about baseball cards and memorabilia, I have decided to change the name of my blog to more encompass anything and everything I would post. Also, the hope is that with a new link as well, my blog would be removed from the scammy re-directors redirecting lists, so that irate and befuddled Russians and Latvians do not stumble upon my blog without their intention to do so. (Those two countries are the top viewers/visitors of my blog, not including the US.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So without further ado, the new name and link will be: "<span style="color: cyan;">SchuyPrism</span>" and <a href="http://schuyprism.blogspot.com/">schuyprism.blogspot.com</a>, respectively. This change will be put into effect soon enough and if you still have any interest in receiving, on average, about three-quarters of a post per year, then please stay subscribed, change your favorites, whatever may you do. If not, you can simply unsubscribe or do nothing, frankly because there is a scintilla of a difference.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And again, I would like to thank all of you for viewing my blog over the past few years, whether it was for contentment or impalement; I am truly sorry if it was the latter one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ahhhhh another post! Just about the second one in the past year. I felt it a necessity to post a piece of baseball's history for everyone to learn about. Baseball has changed so much over the years and I feel people should know more about the history of what they love. With baseball just around the corner, it seemed fitting to write about the history of baseball in the Town of Washington; in particular the Millbrook Millionaires, for an assigned-for-homework contest through the Dutchess County Historical Society for the 300th anniversary of the county.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you may read, the team was most commonly known as the Millbrook Millionaires, but evolved into the Millbrook Legionnaires and also had a few other names over the years. Below is a team photo of the Millionaires in the mid-1920s, and if you keep scrolling you should find my essay as well as a team photo of the more recent Legionnaires in 1949/1950.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-style: italic; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="444" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NKIuxVeUNKY/UU5SQM13zdI/AAAAAAAABYA/oEHUkR3b8pI/s640/millbrook+millionares+team+picture.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> Dutchess County is, through generations, a place where monumental milestones have occurred. Even though there are numerous landmarks in the history and development of Dutchess County, one stands out from the rest; the organization and participation of baseball in the surrounding area. In particular, the Millbrook Millionaires, who were a semi-pro baseball team – based in Millbrook – that most notably played in the 1920s and 1930s, although they date back to the 1911, with the creation of the YMCA baseball field and later, the YMCA building; and dissipated in the late 1950s due to the destruction of their field with the creation of the new Elm Drive elementary school. They were the first baseball team Millbrook ever had, which is why the team was such an important part of the community. That was not the end of baseball in Millbrook however; there was a few teams throughout the middle part of the century, there is a Babe Ruth Team on and off through present day, there are the Millbrook High School and Millbrook Prep School baseball teams, as well as a Millbrook Little League that unfortunately just recently dissolved. </span></i></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> The Millbrook Millionaires, later evolved into the Millbrook Legionnaires, played a huge role in the community of Millbrook. Their afternoon games attracted large crowds of spectators to the YMCA field in Millbrook. Crowds usually hovered around a thousand onlookers at the “Y” field, but occasionally reached three thousand for the big games. These games brought many people into Millbrook; whether just for the day or for a lifetime. Some people came into the town to watch the game and then decided to stay and live in the area. Back in the early days, before T.V. and the abundance of cars on the streets, the Millionaires were what people looked forward to all week. They wanted to go and watch the game and root for the hometown team face off against the nearby rival towns. The whole town was into it, different businesses would sponsor the team and the costs for their equipment. Although the admission was free, there were free-will donations at every game that went around the crowd to also help with the teams expenses. The Millionaires would play teams in the surrounding towns and even go down to Long Island and up to Albany as well as everywhere in between, to play other semi-pro teams. The team had some up and down seasons throughout their existence, though they did win the Dutchess County Championship in 1931. Many of the players that once played for the Millionaires were elected into the Dutchess County Hall of Fame and some went </span></i></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<i><div style="display: inline !important;">
<i><span style="font-family: inherit;">even further and played in the major leagues. </span></i></div>
</i></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<i><div style="display: inline !important;">
<i><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></i></div>
</i></div>
<div style="font-style: italic; text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> The Harlem Valley League’s Millbrook Millionaires brought the community together throughout the season. They were a milestone that should never be forgotten or misunderstood. Many of the players were not millionaires, yet the team gave Millbrook a sense of pride and accomplishment.</span></i></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Here's the first post I have made since last April. With the process of getting everything </span>transferred<span style="font-family: inherit;"> over to a new computer and not having time, I don't have any pictures of cards or anything. Here's some that I found lying around in some folder on my computer.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="233" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OtGxI7eGb6c/UIcm4fJjdeI/AAAAAAAABXE/QQaefMy7rzQ/s320/Jackie+Robinson+card+front.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is a Jackie Robinson card I bought at the old Yankee Stadium. Don't know why I bought a Jackie Robinson card in a Yankee store when I could have bought any other Yankee item. It came in a "bullet-proof case", not really but that's what it looks like, haha. It's one of the clear plastic cases with the screw, but it is really thick. I think this card looks pretty cool.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="220" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6qVIv82Xq-8/UIcmpzFfbGI/AAAAAAAABW0/aq-QNlrtVgg/s320/double+Roger+Maris,+Curtis+Granderson.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is a Timeless Talents 2012 insert card of Roger Maris and Curtis Granderson. I wish the title of this card was true for the Yankees' postseason this year. At least they made it to the ALCS, I really don't know how they got that far.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NpSgQ0zGYSY/UIcmqeQ5juI/AAAAAAAABW8/1DsoWEaeDJE/s320/the+famous+Honus+Wagner+card+remake.jpg" width="227" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And lastly here is another insert card of the original and famous "Honus Wagner card". Even if it is a reprint and not even the same dimensions as the original, I still think it is pretty awesome.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and that's it for now, come back in 4 months and, maybe and hopefully you will see another post. Hope everyone has a good rest of October!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
After taking a longer than short but not long spring break, I'm back to post more! With baseball season starting, I have been more on the field then in the wonderful world of collecting. But alas, I'm back! Well at least for a few posts. As a quick side note, Thanks William for the cards, I can't keep up with the posts. Haha. Back to the post, these 2012 Topps I picked up about a month ago and I must say, either they put in a lot of really awesome inserts or I got really lucky. I opened at least three Mickey Mantle cards and a whole lot of more awesome ones as well. Here's a few:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1EggdQO3lz8/T35ZHXWe8dI/AAAAAAAABFM/M09XkSkV6fs/s200/GOLD+Eli+Whitehouse.jpg" width="142" /> <img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tfSwVNQ8SBI/T35ZH547XjI/AAAAAAAABFU/JL6jizQrLWs/s200/GOLD+Miguel+Oliva.jpg" width="142" /> <u><strike><img border="0" height="200" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DGd0vzsBfVU/T35ZI9CL4PI/AAAAAAAABFc/V4rztFw87T0/s200/GOLD+Nyjer+Morgen.jpg" width="137" /></strike></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is an Eli Whiteside gold card. Dustin Eli Whiteside made his debut in 2005 for the Orioles and played a whopping 9 games. After that he was in the minors until he came back up in 2009 for the Giants. He has done decent in a 196 games and 478 ABs hitting .218 and accumulating 10 HRs in that span. In the middle is Miguel Olivo. I'm sure you have heard of him. The one on the right is good ole Nyjer Morgan, who has been all over the place from Pittsburgh to the Nats to Milwaukee. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W0TUkpgYex8/T35ZKMrganI/AAAAAAAABFs/HwIowtKxBUY/s200/Golden+Great+Mickey+Mantle.jpg" width="141" /> <img border="0" height="200" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VFxDP4LRgMw/T35ZJiJbN4I/AAAAAAAABFk/xYRwgmYSyMo/s200/Golden+Great+Joe+Dimaggio.jpg" width="140" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio "Golden Great" cards. Nothing much else to say other than these guys were Legends!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xU95N3CF478/T35ZLvRBqYI/AAAAAAAABF4/FIQCK7hqr4w/s1600/double+Andre+Dawson+Justin+Upton.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="144" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xU95N3CF478/T35ZLvRBqYI/AAAAAAAABF4/FIQCK7hqr4w/s200/double+Andre+Dawson+Justin+Upton.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is a "Timeless Talents" of Andre Dawson and Justin Upton.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="143" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yYID63ZwYjc/T35ZNvcICbI/AAAAAAAABGc/NOuZkomRF44/s200/walkoff+Jim+Thome.jpg" width="200" /> <img border="0" height="142" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iRpwB2_Y-vY/T35ZOFwfPDI/AAAAAAAABGk/7wfLNFW-CAc/s200/walkoff+Mag+Ordo.jpg" width="200" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These two are "Classic Walk-offs" of Jim Thome and the other of Magglio Ordonez.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="217" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EBaWAmcQKtY/T35ZK2vxcWI/AAAAAAAABF0/qPq3wHgO5gM/s320/Jose+Tabata+goldish,+Jason+Kipnis+redish.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are "Gold Futures" of Jose Tabata and Jason Kipnis.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="146" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HLZed3J49QY/T35ZMpkKHgI/AAAAAAAABGI/EiZesat7h5I/s200/goldmo+Tom+Glavine.jpg" width="200" /><img border="0" height="143" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oK0sHWJlquQ/T35ZMHur08I/AAAAAAAABGE/q1F0lVCvJfw/s200/goldmo+Roy+Halladay.jpg" width="200" /><img border="0" height="140" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m-FyFJxl980/T35ZNNi-wUI/AAAAAAAABGU/qfH2m66OR2w/s200/goldmoJered+Weaver.jpg" width="200" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And finally, these are the "Golden Moments" of Tom Seaver, Roy Halladay and Jered Weaver. As much as I don't like the Mets, I do agree that Tom Seaver was no doubtingly a Hall of Famer. As for Roy Halladay and Jered Weaver, they are both on the road there as well. </div>

I'm back after about a month break and I have quite a lot to post, so hopefully everyone will come back to see my next few posts. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Recently I opened one of those $19.99 boxes of the new 2012 Topps. (I can never really remember what there are called, hobby boxes?) I must say all the inserts they put in are really awesome. I still have to crop the pictures of the other cards. This post will be kind of short since they are not cropped but I did get one cropped so far and it was the special Historical Patch inserts. I pulled a Ryne Sandberg one which was pretty awesome!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you didn't know he played for the Cubs for his whole career except for his rookie year in which he played for the Phillies, he was drafted by the Phillies in 1978. There is plenty more about him if you don't know, for the majority I'd say most people know a lot about him. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="234" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YKH_PGxb1pM/T1vJua1jNbI/AAAAAAAABAM/KwhCcPncViw/s320/Ryne+Sandberg+patch+card.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />SchuyBreachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16931355750367143157noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374023423991803999.post-6162614599375801122012-02-22T18:02:00.000-05:002012-02-22T18:02:03.818-05:00Brandon Belt...<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you heard of him? Giants fans should have because he played 63 games for them last year.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this bio on MLB.com of him and found it pretty interesting, but it's kind of long and I'm a little short on time so I'll just paste it:<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #cccccc; font-family: inherit; font-size: x-small;"><i>Married (Haylee)...Attended University of Texas...led Longhorns to College World Series in 2009 after pacing team in batting avg. (.319)...earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2008...overall, batted .321 (152-for-473) with 14 HRs and 108 RBI in 124 games in his 2 seasons at Texas...Before going to Texas, played one year for San Jacinto College in Houston and was pitcher and designated hitter...batted .441 with 10 HRs to receive All-Conference designated hitter honors and 2007 Juco World Series Big Stick Award for 3rd ranked Gators as freshman...Was selected by Atlanta Braves in 11th round of 2007 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign...Graduated from Hudson High School in Lufkin, Texas...as senior, garnered district MVP, All-State and All-America honors...Was selected by Boston Red Sox in 11th round of 2006 First-Year Player Draft, but did not sign.</i></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><i><br /></i></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The reason I'm writing about him, or pasting other people's writings about him, is because I find him to be one of this year's good fantasy draft picks. I have done little to no research for my fantasy team this year, but none the less if you hadn't picked a decent first baseman early like Pujols, Teixeira, Fielder, just to name a few; this guy is your guy to pick...maybe. He will definitively be my pick if I can't get any of the top names! </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I learned of Brandon Belt from getting some of his cards in one of my recent packs. Here's one card:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PtauzPdOazs/T0VxEGwdCVI/AAAAAAAABAE/wde4nJJf2bs/s1600/brandon+belt+card+cropped.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PtauzPdOazs/T0VxEGwdCVI/AAAAAAAABAE/wde4nJJf2bs/s320/brandon+belt+card+cropped.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found a liking in him, just as I did with Ryan Freel and Michael Bourn. I guess it just the players that if you aren't a fan of the team and don't follow baseball as closely as others do, then you won't know about them. Those kind of players.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And I wish good luck to all the fantasy players and team owners out there for a productive season! </div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>SchuyBreachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16931355750367143157noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374023423991803999.post-63924604429213642582012-02-19T13:55:00.000-05:002012-03-04T18:02:33.862-05:00Some Cards From a Couple Weeks Ago That I was Not able to Post.<div style="text-align: center;">
Hi everybody! Hope everyone's having a good weekend so far. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
More cards come in the mail from William. Thanks William!<br />
I haven't been able to get them posted for a while, but here they are!<br />
A Casey McGreen and a Jeffrey Hammonds - USA cards.<br />
The Jeffrey Hammonds card is from 1991, I didn't know there was a USA team than!<br />
The Casey McGreen card is more recent.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I don't really know what else to say other than Thanks to William and more cards to add to my USA Collection!<br />
<br />
I looked up Casey McGreen on Google and nothing for him came up. And for Jeffrey Hammonds, he played on 6 different teams in the MLB and got drafted in the 1st round in the 1992 amateur draft. He Debut in 1993 and played until 2005. In that time span he had 110 home runs and a lifetime average of .272.</div>SchuyBreachhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16931355750367143157noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374023423991803999.post-91232271323025001902012-02-11T14:18:00.001-05:002012-02-11T20:31:11.721-05:00Gatorade Anyone? Who's ready for one of the biggest games on television this year? You know, the Super Bowl. The game that's on every year and cost about a million or more for a thirty second commercial time slot. As much as I am looking forward to the commercials, my favorite team is playing; the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">New</span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">York</span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">G</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">i</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">a</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">n</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">t</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">s</span>. So I'm pretty excited for the big game! GO Giants!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And for a picture to go with this post...a card I got yesterday...an Eli Manning card!</div>

Last weekend there was this card show down in White Plains like I think there is every month. A guy named Mason Williams was going to be signing there and since I recently opened a card of him, I wanted to get it signed! Unfortunately, I could not go, so I got my good friend Drew, from <a href="http://drewsbbcards.blogspot.com/">Drewscards</a> to get it signed. THANKS Drew!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks Mason Williams!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">Even if you spelled my name wrong. It's ok though because "y" and "i" sound similar.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And Thanks Drew, again!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Well Maybe Not.Well I'm back! At least for a couple posts anyway. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas or whatever you celebrate during this summer-like holiday season. And I also wish for everyone to have a grand New Year.<br />
<br />
Anyway back to the post that I have been meaning to get to for the longest time. I might as well tell you what's going to be in this post mainly because I see no problem with that, in fact I feel that's the way one should go along doing it. But I have little experience with this Blog thing and I have not mastered the way of the Blogger quite yet.<br />
So this post should consist of the rest of the pictures of the cards that were in my last post way back in November. And the cards that my good friend William sent me. Well here we go...<br />
<br />
First how about we start off with the rest of that last post...<br />
<br />

(Part 1)<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sorry About Not Getting it up on Sunday</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had it pretty much done, but I was not able to post it...</div>
<br />
Sorry about not having a post in a while. I have just not been able to get around to it. (it might just be me but that last sentence sounds grammatically incorrect? Maybe not.) In the past month or so, I have bought many boxes of cards, just like the $19.99 boxes, but I did get like 5 or so. About 3 Bowman Chrome 2011, or whatever the most recent one is. And 2 Allan & Ginter boxes. In the Bowman boxes, I opened up two more Bryce Harper cards! The same as before but one was chrome. I also opened a David Price blue-edged card (just the normal Bowman). And to my excitement, I also got a Brett Brach Auto-Rookie card! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the Allan & Ginter, the first card in the first pack I opened, was a Mickey Mantle card! I also opened <i>two</i> mini George Bush cards, (if anyone wants them, please speak up. I'm not big about politics, so if anyone wants these cards please tell me.) And also a Billy Butler Jersey card!<br />
